How and When to Apply
2013-2014 Scholarship Applicants
The 2013-2014 scholarship application period has closed. If you are a
prospective or continuing student and applied for 2013-2014
scholarships, good luck! We will begin awarding campus-based
scholarships beginning in spring and throughout the summer.
Please refer to the appropriate sections below for information on the
application process and eligibility requirements for your particular
circumstance. It is important to note that undocumented students are
also eligible to apply for scholarships. And remember to check this
website in October for specific details on how to apply for the
2014-2015 academic year.
Current/Continuing Students
The 2013-2014 application period for continuing students has now
closed. If you submitted an application and wish to be considered for
need-based scholarships, you must also complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or for non-citizen AB540-eligible students, a California Dream Act Application. Be sure to include our school code, 001313.
Continuing undergraduates, including freshmen and transfer students
who start at UC Davis in Fall 2013, with a GPA of 3.25 or higher should
reapply for UC Davis Scholarships each year. Check this website again in
October for specific details and a link to the continuing scholarship
application for the 2014-2015 academic year. A Letter of Recommendation
is required for all continuing student scholarship applicants.
Prospective Students
Freshmen applicants:
The UC Application also serves as the scholarship application, so you
apply for scholarships when you complete the application for admission
between November 1 – 30. A 3.25 GPA is required, but no additional
documentation should be submitted. Be sure to read all instructions
pertaining to scholarships when completing the application, paying
particular attention to the restricted scholarship eligibility codes.
Not all codes apply to UC Davis funds, so we've created a list of UC Davis specific restricted scholarship eligibility codes. If you wish to be considered for need-based scholarships, you must also complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or for non-citizen AB540-eligible students, a California Dream Act Application. Be sure to include our school code, 001313.
Transfer applicants:
The UC Application also serves as the scholarship application, so you
apply for scholarships when you complete the application for admission
between November 1 – 30. A 3.25 college GPA is needed to be considered
for UC Davis campus-based scholarships; a letter of recommendation is
suggested, though not required. Transfer applicants who wish to be
considered for the Regents Scholarship must have a minimum 3.80 college
GPA and are required to submit a letter of recommendation (see link
below). All transfer students who submit a letter of recommendation by
the deadline will have their UC Application packets holistically read by
the Scholarship Committee, which may result in a more favorable review.
Be sure to read all instructions pertaining to scholarships when
completing the application, paying particular attention to the
restricted scholarship eligibility codes. Not all codes apply to UC
Davis funds, so we've created a list of UC Davis specific restricted scholarship eligibility codes. If you wish to be considered for need-based scholarships, you must also complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or for non-citizen AB540-eligible students, a California Dream Act Application. Be sure to include our school code, 001313.
2012-2013 Scholarships
The application period for 2012-2013 undergraduate scholarships is now complete.
We have awarded all Regents Scholarships and other campus-based
scholarships as well. All scholarship recipients have been notified by
email and all scholarships have been posted to students’ MyAwards
site. Unfortunately, many highly eligible students may not be awarded
scholarships as the applicant pool was very competitive. The University
continues to raise money for scholarships, which means the funding
available for next year will be even greater.
Scholarship Application Tips
Undergraduates applying for UC Davis scholarships may find our Application Tips
useful when completing the continuing undergraduate scholarship
